Introduction

Welcome to the « CPR/AED – Healthcare Professional (5h) » training. In our society, being able to intervene effectively in an emergency is a vital skill for every individual. This four-hour session is designed to provide in-depth training in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), specifically tailored to the needs of the general public.

Whether you are a parent, a professional, or simply a citizen concerned about the safety of those around you, this training gives you the skills needed to act quickly and effectively in the event of a cardiac crisis or respiratory arrest. It is particularly recommended for those who frequently interact with at-risk groups, such as children or older adults.

Certification upon completion of the training

You will receive a « CPR/AED – Healthcare Professional » certification, valid for 1 an. This recognition attests to your ability to effectively manage cardiovascular emergencies and act as an essential link in the chain of survival.

year validity — Continuing education

Unlike general first aid training (3 years), the « CPR/AED – Healthcare Professional » certification is valid for 1 an. This annual renewal meets the continuing professional development requirements of health professional orders.

Course objective

  • Mastery of CPR and AED techniques adapted to the health professional context: further develop mastery of interventions for cardiopulmonary arrest and airway obstruction in adults, children, and infants — including the bag-valve-mask, essential in healthcare settings.
  • Specific management of respiratory emergencies in a medical context: recognize and manage choking and other respiratory emergencies in patients of all age groups using techniques adapted to medical environments.

The training is based on active and inductive learning, the integration of theory and practice (simulations of emergency scenarios), interactive modules, demonstration videos, and continuous assessment. Instruction, assessments and practice

4.1 Theoretical instruction

It is essential to complete all provided readings before progressing. After each section, you must click the « COMPLETED » button. An interactive medical glossary is available: highlighted terms offer an information bubble and a link to a full definition.

"Explanations" sections — Optional but recommended

These sections offer additional details not assessed on the tests, but can significantly improve your ability to apply the skills in real situations.

4.2 Theoretical assessments

At the end of each module, a multiple-choice quiz must be completed within 60 minutes. Minimum required score: 80%. Up to 10 attempts allowed. A "Need a hint?" button is available during the assessments.

Intervention in case of repeated failures

If you do not pass the test after 10 attempts, a direct intervention with an ONCPR instructor will be necessary to identify and address the difficulties encountered.

4.3 Practical sessions

Before each practical session, you will be guided in building a CPR mannequin using everyday objects. An animated video guides participants through each step of the maneuvers, including hand positioning. Our automated system tracks time spent — progress is blocked until the session is fully completed. The ONCPR mobile app is available as an additional support tool.

5 — Deadline management

From the date of purchase, you have 10 weeks to complete the entire program. Inactivity of more than 10 weeks results in a temporary suspension of your file. To reactivate your access, contact ONCPR at [email protected].

Plan regular study sessions to effectively retain the taught skills and complete the training within the allotted time.

7 — ONCPR evaluation

Confidential summative evaluations are conducted during the training to measure teaching effectiveness. A confidential overall evaluation is carried out at the conclusion. Your feedback can be sent to: [email protected]

Certification

Upon completion of the training, once all assessments have been passed, an official « CPR/AED – Healthcare Professional » certificate will be issued to you in electronic format, immediately available for download, emailing, or printing.

Security and recognition

Each certificate is unique and secured with a QR code and a unique URL link allowing its authenticity to be verified. ONCPR programs are regularly updated to reflect the latest national standards in CPR and cardiovascular emergency care.

Reminder — 1-year validity

This certification is valid for 1 an. The annual renewal aligns with the continuing education requirements of health professional orders. Plan your recertification before your certification expires.
